The book over the last minutes

The same book as a Bitcoin order book heatmap: walls appear, hold or get pulled. Open it full screen in Depth, with candles, a footprint chart and liquidations.

How to read the order book

Asks, the sell orders, are listed above the price in violet; bids, the buy orders, below it in teal. Each row adds up the orders in a $50 band. A long bar is a wall: a large amount waiting at one price. Walls near the price often slow it down, but they can be pulled before price arrives, so they are best watched live. When the bids within 1 % are much thicker than the asks, it takes more selling to push the price down than buying to lift it.

Common questions

Where can I see the Bitcoin order book live for free?

On this page and in Swiftedge Depth, free and without an account: the live order book of the Bitcoin perpetual future, with every resting bid and ask near the price, the depth within 1 % and 2 %, and every trade.

What is the Bitcoin order book?

The list of every resting buy order (bids) and sell order (asks) waiting at each price. Bids sit below the price, asks above it. Where many orders stack up at one price, traders call it a wall.

What does depth within 1 % mean?

The total value of resting bids within 1 % below the price and resting asks within 1 % above it. It shows how much it would take to move the price 1 %, and which side is thicker right now.

Which Bitcoin order book is this?

The order book of the Bitcoin perpetual future, the most traded Bitcoin market, combined from on-chain perpetual exchanges and measured by Swiftedge. Spot exchanges each have their own, smaller book.

How is this different from an order book heatmap?

This page shows the book right now. An order book heatmap shows how the book changed over time, so you can see walls appear, hold or get pulled.

Is this financial advice?

No. Swiftedge shows market data. Nothing on the site is a recommendation to buy or sell.
