Privacy policy

Last updated 17 October 2026

The short version: no accounts, no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics. We do not store IP addresses. Visits are counted with an anonymous code that changes every day. Your drawings and settings stay in your own browser. If you contact us, we keep your message to answer you.

Who is responsible

Swiftedge ApS, Denmark, is the data controller for swiftedge.uk, Swiftedge Depth, Swiftedge Options, the daily BTC report and the chat. You can reach us through the contact form or [email protected].

What stays on your device

Your drawings, indicator choices, chart position, panel layout, Options settings and alerts are saved in your browser's local storage so they are there next time. If you use the chat, it saves your chosen nickname and that you have seen the rules. If you close the "What's new" card, it saves which update you last saw, so the card does not come back. None of this is sent to us. Alerts are checked in your browser; if you allow browser notifications, your browser shows them itself and keeps that permission, and nothing about your alerts passes through Swiftedge. If you install Swiftedge as an app, the browser registers a small service worker for the site; it stores no pages or data. You can remove it at any time by clearing the site data for swiftedge.uk in your browser. Swiftedge sets no cookies for visitors.

What we process when you visit

The same applies when the Swiftedge widget is shown on another website: the widget sets no cookies, and a view is counted in the anonymous statistics below together with the address of the page it is on.

WhatWhyHow long
IP address and browser identification (user agent)To deliver the site and the live data, and to protect it, for example by limiting how many connections or messages one address can send.Only in memory while needed. Never written to disk.
Anonymous visit statistics: page, anonymous daily code, country (as reported by Cloudflare), device type, browser and operating system family, the website that linked to the page, and a utm_source tag if the link had oneTo understand how the site is used and how much capacity it needs.Detailed records 90 days; only daily totals are kept longer.
Anonymous feature counts in Depth and Options: how long the app was open and which features were used, by name from a fixed list (for example an indicator being switched on), with device type and the daily codeTo see which features are useful.90 days
On articles, guides and reports: how long the page was visible and how far it was scrolled, as whole seconds and a percentage, with the daily codeTo see which pages are actually read.90 days
Addresses that do not exist, with the linking websiteTo fix broken links.90 days

The statistics do not identify you. To count a visitor once per day, the server combines your IP address and browser identification with a secret that changes every day and turns the result into a one-way code. The secret is deleted after two days, so the code cannot be traced back to your IP address and cannot follow you from one day to the next. Nothing is stored on your device for this. Search engine and AI crawlers are counted by name only.

While you have Depth, Options or the front page open, our internal live view can show your approximate city, as reported by Cloudflare and rounded to about 10 km. It is held only while you are connected and is never saved in the statistics.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running, protecting and improving the service (GDPR article 6(1)(f)).

Chat

The live chat in Depth and Options needs no account. We store your nickname, your message and the time it was sent until the chat is cleared every day at 00:00 UTC, then it is deleted. Reports, appeals and moderator actions are kept for up to 7 days, and the text of a reported message for up to 72 hours. To limit spam, the chat server keeps a temporary code made from your IP address and browser name with a daily secret, in memory only. The chat rules explain moderation and appeals. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a safe chat (article 6(1)(f)).

Shared moments

When you use Share in Depth or Options, your browser sends only numbers: the time and price you pointed at, or the strike and expiry. Swiftedge draws the image from its own market data and keeps the card and its page for 180 days, so the link keeps working. The card contains no information about you. To limit abuse, the number of new cards per IP address is counted in memory for one hour; the IP address is not written to disk. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in offering the feature (article 6(1)(f)).

Contact form and email

When you write to us through the contact form or by email, we receive your name (if you give it), your email address, the topic and your message, and for emails the subject, the time and the names of any attachments. Attachments themselves are not stored. We use this only to answer you and to handle your request.

Who else is involved

Cloudflare and Resend are US companies. Where personal data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, this is based on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We do not sell data and we do not share it with advertisers. Market data and news headlines are fetched by our server, so your browser does not contact the exchanges or news sites unless you click a link.

Advertising

swiftedge.uk does not show ads today. If we start, ad partners may use cookies or similar technology. We will update this policy before that happens and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

When you follow a link to TradingView, YouTube, a news site or another service, their privacy policy applies from then on.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and erase personal data about you, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability where it applies. You can also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet). Because the visit statistics are anonymous, we usually cannot find data about a specific person in them. To use your rights, write to us through the contact form or [email protected] and choose the topic "Privacy request".

Changes

When we add new features that process personal data, such as accounts, subscriptions or ads, this policy will be updated before they go live, and the date at the top will change.
