aggr.trade and Swiftedge: trades tape vs order book heatmap
aggr is a free, open-source tool that shows live market orders from many crypto exchanges, with liquidations and sound. Swiftedge Depth is free too, but looks at a different thing: the resting orders in the Bitcoin and Ethereum futures order book, drawn as a heatmap, with every trade on top. Many traders use both.
What aggr offers
From aggr's own repository, checked on 24 October 2026 (github.com/Tucsky/aggr):
- A live aggregator of market orders (trades) on the markets you choose, with trades that share a timestamp added together and rolling sums over set periods.
- Liquidations in the trade feed, and sound that follows trade size.
- Exchanges listed in the README include Binance, Bybit, Coinbase, Deribit, Bitfinex, BitMEX, Bitstamp, Kucoin, Bitget, Gate.io, OKX (Okex) and Crypto.com.
- Charts are built from the trades it receives (the README says trades data only for now). An order book heatmap or a footprint chart was not listed.
- Free and open source (GPL-3.0), runs in the browser, and can be self-hosted.

Which one fits
- aggr fits when you want the tape: every market order and liquidation across many exchanges at once, with sound.
- Swiftedge fits when you want to see where the resting liquidity is before price gets there: walls in the order book, whether they hold, get eaten or get pulled, plus a footprint chart and options levels.
Trades show what happened; the order book shows what is waiting. Takers and makers, explained.
Common questions
Is aggr.trade free?
Yes. aggr is open source under GPL-3.0 and runs in the browser. Swiftedge Depth is also free, without an account.
Does Swiftedge show trades from many exchanges like aggr?
No. Swiftedge shows the Binance BTCUSDT and ETHUSDT perpetual order book and its trades in detail, plus liquidations from Binance, OKX and Bybit. For a multi-exchange tape, aggr is the better fit.
Can I see the order book heatmap and trades together?
Yes. In Swiftedge Depth every trade is drawn as a bubble on top of the live order book heatmap, and the footprint chart shows buying and selling at every price inside each candle.
