ATAS and Swiftedge: two ways to read a footprint

By Swiftedge · Published

ATAS is a full desktop order flow platform: footprint (cluster) charts, DOM, heatmap, market replay and connections to crypto exchanges, futures and stocks. Swiftedge Depth is much narrower: a free footprint chart in the browser for Bitcoin and Ethereum futures, drawn on top of the live order book heatmap, with no download and no account.

What ATAS offers

From ATAS's own pricing page, checked on 21 October 2026 (atas.net/pricing):

What Swiftedge's footprint offers

Footprint in Swiftedge DepthWhat you get
CellsVolume sold into the bid and bought from the ask at every price row, with bars behind the numbers
ImbalancesDiagonal, 300 %, highlighted per cell; three or more in a row are marked as stacked
Per candlePoint of control, and a Volume, Delta and Delta % table under the chart
TimeframesFootprint 5 seconds to 1 hour; candlesticks 1 second to 4 hours; or auto from the zoom
ZoomNumbers when there is room, coloured cells when zoomed out, plain candles further out
DataEvery trade with the exchange's own aggressor side; about 48 hours of history
UnderneathThe live order book heatmap of the same market, so resting liquidity and traded volume are on one chart

Swiftedge is not a trading platform and has no replay. Its book and trades come from one venue, Binance futures.

Common questions

Is Swiftedge a free alternative to ATAS?

For reading a Bitcoin or Ethereum footprint in the browser, yes: Swiftedge Depth's footprint is free and needs no account. It does not offer ATAS's range of markets, market replay, DOM trading or indicator library.

Does ATAS have a free plan?

According to its pricing page in October 2026, yes: the Start plan is free and includes footprint charts, with real-time crypto data and delayed futures. Paid plans add replay, more connections and more indicators.

Is the Swiftedge footprint built from real bid and ask data?

Yes. Every trade from Binance's futures feed carries the aggressor side, and Swiftedge adds it to the bid or ask side of its price row. Nothing is estimated from tick direction.

Do I need to install anything for Swiftedge?

No. Depth runs in the browser on desktop and phone. You can install it as an app from the browser if you want its own window.
